EmploymentCrossing Launches DubaiCrossing, a Niche Website That Lists Every Active Job in Dubai
Pasadena, CA — Dubai's brisk development in recent years has provided lucrative jobs for many people worldwide. An impressive economic stability coupled with a healthy construction industry, has time and again drawn in people from all walks of life and industries to Dubai. Keeping the needs of global job seekers, EmploymentCrossing, a leading US job research institution, recently launched DubaiCrossing (www.dubaicrossing.com). The site strives to collect all active jobs in Dubai in its database of employment opportunities.
Dubai’s strong economy has created many jobs for foreigners, until now. In the first three months of 2008, about 306,000 work permits were sanctioned. However, in October, the global recession hit Dubai too when some of the companies started announcing layoffs. These include Damac Properties, Nakheel, Shuaa Capital, and Burt Hill.
Meanwhile, a proposal to secure jobs in various sectors and industries is being prepared by Dubai's Department of Economic Development (DED). The department confirms that the wholesale and retail sector contributed about 37% of the gross domestic product (GDP) last year, which jumped up by 16% from 13% in nominal terms and from six to eight percent in real terms.
Reports also suggest that the department strongly believes that securing people's jobs is crucial in the development of various industrial sectors.
''The hustle and bustle in recruitment activity, especially in the financial services and real estate sector, has slowed down drastically now,'' says Harrison Barnes, founder and CEO of DubaiCrossing. ''The big-shot companies in Dubai are taking necessary precautions to face the tide of the downturn which is prevalent in other countries. Few are resorting to cost-cutting beforehand to combat the recession, which might sweep them badly later. The real picture is that there are job openings in Dubai which are not widely known or publicized, and our researchers scour these and numerous sources for those kinds of jobs.''
The global recession has put an abrupt halt to many people’s dreams, as more and more companies sack staff to cut costs. But DubaiCrossing believes that the real problem why job seekers don’t get jobs is that the jobs are scattered all over in various places and they do not know where to look. In fact, DubaiCrossing is an exclusive site that lists jobs related to all sorts of industries, mostly from employer websites. Unlike other job boards, DubaiCrossing focuses solely on researching jobs in Dubai from each and every newspaper classified, job board, printed matter, and online agency.

One of the most interesting things to me is witnessing people when they make a complete reversal in their lives and overnight become incredibly successful, happy, and fulfilled people. Perhaps the reason this is so fascinating is that it happens so rarely. When this does happen, more often than not, the major life change is related to a career, location, mate, or some other important aspect of the... |
