This is an excellent opportunity to enhance the operations of a $75m non-profit social services organization with programs throughout New England.u003c/pu003enu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003eSummary:u003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003enu003cpu003eThe Services for New Americans (SNA) team empowers resettled refugees to become self-sufficient by connecting refugees to community services and facilitating community integration.u003cspanu003eu0026nbsp; u003c/spanu003eThe Co-Sponsorship and Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for pursuing creative ways for Ascentria to work with community groups throughout the West Springfield area in order to expand and strengthen our network of community support, as well as developing safe and affordable housing resources. Other duties include recruiting, hiring, training, supervising and coordinating volunteers and interns; procuring donations that benefit refugee families and the program; and developing and maintaining relationships with faith communities and other community partners. Furthermore, this position represents Ascentria and SNA among a variety of community outlets including, but not limited to faith, social service, local schools, public agencies and municipal partners. The position is part of the broader Services for New Americans team serving refugees and provides other support as needed.u003c/pu003enu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003eEssential Responsibilities:u003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003enu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003eCo-Sponsorshipu003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003enu003culu003enu003cliu003eManages the Co-sponsorship Pipeline through all stages of the process: conducts co-sponsorship orientations/ info sessions, provides feedback on co-sponsorship applications, invites groups to co-sponsorship training, assists groups as they move towards a u0026ldquo;green light,u0026rdquo; and collaborates with the Co-sponsorship team to make decisions regarding family placements.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eReaches out to new community groups to explore points of connection and opportunities for learning about the mission of Ascentria.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eParticipates in ongoing discussions regarding Co-sponsorship Program evaluation and management.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eInitiates and manages and/or directly executes small group meetings and/or workshops with community groups interested in working with Ascentria.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eWorks to address organizational needs and to foster program development by matching skilled volunteers with identified needs. If necessary, manages the ongoing relationship between the volunteer(s) and the IRIS department they are assistingu003c/liu003enu003c/ulu003enu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003eSafe and Affordable Housingu003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003enu003culu003enu003cliu003eIdentify and present housing options for clients that fulfill their specific location, size, and affordability requirements.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eRegularly communicate with property managers/affordable housing developers in order to maintain a current and accurate list of affordable housing/rental properties which are accepting applications for a wait list. Additionally, keep current application forms and other requirements for being places on the wait list.u003c/liu003enu003c/ulu003enu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003eLead Volunteer and Intern Teamu003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003enu003culu003enu003cliu003eRecruit, interview, hire, orient, supervise and evaluate volunteers and interns.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eMaintain regular contact with volunteers and interns including regular in-person meetings.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eCoordinate u0026lsquo;Appreciationu0026rsquo; events for volunteers and interns.u003c/liu003enu003c/ulu003enu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003eDonationsu003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003enu003culu003enu003cliu003eResponsible for the solicitation and collection of donations including cash, furniture as appropriate, household items and other items as defined by client or program needs.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eAssure the maintenance, cleanliness and organization of the on-site u0026lsquo;Donationsu0026rsquo; room.u003c/liu003enu003c/ulu003enu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003eClient Servicesu003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003enu003culu003enu003cliu003eCoordinate volunteer and intern activities with SNA team including meeting the needs of clients and the program.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eSupport resettlement team as needed to ensure core services are provided to refugees.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eProvide exceptional customer service both verbally and face-to-face.u003cspanu003eu0026nbsp; u003c/spanu003eu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eEnsure that refugee clients are treated with respect, dignity and respect for privacy at all times.u003c/liu003enu003c/ulu003enu003cpu003eu0026nbsp;u003c/pu003enu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003eRecord Keeping, Reporting, Financesu003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003enu003culu003enu003cliu003eMaintain volunteer database and records.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eDevelop and/or maintain tracking system for volunteer hours and cash and in-kind donations.u003c/liu003enu003c/ulu003enu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003eQualifications:u003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003enu003culu003enu003cliu003eBacheloru0026rsquo;s Degree preferred.u0026nbsp;u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eMinimum of four (4) years of experience related to community development and/or housing efforts required.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eMinimum of one (4) year supervisory experience required.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eKnowledge of volunteer program management and DEI issues.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eExcellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to handle situations with diplomacy and tact.
